A Day's Stay At The Port City Victorian Inn

After guests make their reservations with us, we look forward to welcoming them to the Inn. Arrival can be any day, Monday thru Sunday, and is typically from 3-6 PM daily, unless the guests make other arrangements prior to their arrival. When they arrive, they check in at our front desk to register and pay for their stay. We generally take them on a tour of the first floor to familiarize them with the Inn’s layout and show them the location for breakfast! We take them upstairs to their room, show them how to work all the special features of the room, and then take a short tour of the second floor including a visit to the second floor Pergola.

A Delicious Breakfast then, A Day of Fun in Muskegon!

guests

After the guests have time to freshen up, they often come down stairs and ask for help and directions to a great place to have dinner that evening. If the guest have time, we will chat about the Inn and the original owners, and may even have a glass of wine or a cup of coffee to make them feel welcome and at home. If the guests are pressed for time, we postpone the chat about the Inn until the next morning at breakfast, right after the meal. Sometimes when our guests come down stairs, they just want to look at the many antiques or even sit down in the fireplace parlor to read a book or look at the Inn’s History Book on their own.

Guests should expect to be pampered here at Port City Victorian Inn! Pampering includes inquiring about any dietary restrictions like wheat or milk product allergies. If there is just a couple or two for the evening, Barbara will ask if they would like anything special for breakfast! We always try our best to accommodate our guest’s preferences and to satisfy their needs. Barbara always serves a full country breakfast; usually some sort of egg dish, casserole, fluffy buttermilk pancakes, or one of her specialty dishes like a jelly-roll-up egg dish, or baked oatmeal. We always serve a seasonal fresh fruit dish when available, usually with one of Barb’s special toppings! And yes, coffee, tea, juice or milk is available around the clock.

Topping off a great breakfast with “something for your sweet tooth” is another favorite tactic of Barbara's! These goodies she whips up in the kitchen, (Chief’s choice) may include homemade “Peach Cake,” English Scones, various strudels, and muffins.

Check out is the next day at 11:00 A.M. unless the guests have made other arrangements.
